The Corporate Banker Associate, in partnership with the Corporate Banking Executive, Directors, and Relationship Managers, supports the growth and management of corporate banking relationships while building foundational expertise across relationship management, business development, credit, portfolio management, and risk assessment. This role is designed to provide broad exposure to the Corporate Banking line of business, allowing the incumbent to gain a comprehensive understanding of how the organization drives profitable growth, maintains asset quality, manages risk, and delivers value to clients.
The Associate will work closely with the Corporate Banking Executive and Directors on foundational strategic initiatives, business planning activities, portfolio analyses, market development efforts, and key line-of-business priorities. Through this exposure, the incumbent will develop an understanding of the drivers of revenue generation, relationship profitability, credit performance, deposit growth, and overall business execution.
The role is also responsible for identifying client and prospect opportunities that support relationship expansion and new business development efforts across the Corporate Banking platform. Working alongside bankers and market leaders, the Associate will proactively research target industries, identify lead generation opportunities, support calling plans, and contribute to market growth strategies.
In addition, the Associate assists with client engagement, credit analysis, portfolio management, risk identification, collateral monitoring, covenant compliance, and ongoing portfolio reviews. As an individual contributor within a sales-oriented environment, the incumbent exercises sound judgment within established authority levels while adhering to the Bank's credit, risk management, and compliance standards.
Successful performance during the first year will position the Associate for formal commercial credit training and a development path toward a Corporate Banker role. The program is intended to build the analytical, business development, and relationship management capabilities necessary to become a trusted advisor to clients and a future leader within the Corporate Banking organization.
