Overview

About the Role

 

This function is responsible for managing the servicing of large and complex loan transactions, with a primary focus on Capital Markets, Syndicated Loans, and Structured Commercial Lending. This role requires deep expertise in the Capital Markets and Syndicated Loan landscape, particularly in executing responsibilities as an Administrative Agent.

 

The specialist ensures strict adherence to loan and syndicate terms, applicable regulatory requirements, and the bank’s internal policies and procedures. Key areas of focus include compliance oversight, transaction monitoring, and accurate execution of servicing activities across the bank’s most sophisticated credit facilities.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for the booking of these complex deals ensuring all terms are properly registered in the CORE system (included but not limited):
    • Payment terms
    • Advances terms
    • Rate Terms.
    • Each Investor/Bank terms
    • Fees impacting the loan as well as each Bank
  • Responsible for the day-to-day servicing of this specialized/complex deal portfolio (included but not limited):
    • loan payments
    • loan advances
    • repricing
    • loan maintenance
    • loan fees
    • Escrows and insurance
  • Work with the Escrow and Insurance team as well as outside Service Provider to ensure for the Syndication portfolio:
    • timely and accurately escrow disbursements
    • timely and accurately escrow analysis statements generation
    • proper tracking and coverage of all applicable insurance (Hazard, Windstorm, Content, Equipment, Flood (including content when applicable), Liability, etc.). Reviews and disseminates Insurance Exception Reports generated by outside Service Provider.
    • monitors force placement insurance
  • Responsible for the resolution of complex transactions, where expertise is required to interpret loan terms, loan regulations, as well as Bank policies and procedures. 
    Calculates complex interest and fee accruals at various levels (Base loans, Participations)
  • Responsible for resolving all types of research, claims, inquiries for Capital Market customers as well as for all Banks participating in the Syndicate. 
    Responsible for researching and resolving all loan and participations related issues which may include missing payments, margin changes, unprocessed draw requests, escrow disbursements, insurance, etc.
  • Communicates with agents regarding issues around these specialized facilities.
  • Responsible for the ongoing reconcilement of each Bank’s share: principal, interest, payment bills, past dues.
  • Responsible for the remittance of funds to each participant (loan payments, fees, etc.). Reconciles daily funding and payment activity to account for all daily cash transactions.
  • Responsible for the reconciliation of all control reports that may impact the portfolio (daily, monthly, quarterly, etc.) and escalate as needed to minimize any Operational Risk impact.
  • Responsible for coordinating the funds transmittal from each Bank at time of each disbursements (loan advances). Coordinate with other internal applicable units: Construction, ABL, Capital Market.

Qualifications

What You Bring

  • 3-5 years experience in Loan Servicing of Complex loans and participations (Administration, Operations, Accounting, Escrows [insurance and taxes], Collateral and Client Service). Comprehensive knowledge of the Syndicated Loan Market, particularly the role of Administrative Agent.
  • Extensive knowledge of complex loans documentation, mortgage loans, escrows, insurance requirements and terminology
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Syndication Loan Market, particularly the role of Administrative Agent.
  • Extensive PC skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet) and use of office machines (calculator, facsimile).
  • Knowledge of systems used to manage the Syndicated lending business.
  • Ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders, including Bank’s clients, Investors, front office, attorneys, auditors, examiners, etc.
  • Dynamic, self-motivated, with excellent verbal and written communications skills, ability to interact with all levels of the organization, and lead.
  • Strong client service, organizational and time-management skills.
  • Detailed oriented, with ability to balance multiple time-sensitive tasks at various levels of completion.
  • Accuracy and great follow-up skills mandatory.
  • Able to work in a team environment.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
