The Residential Operations Closing Manager primary responsibility is to maintain the Closing/Funding daily procedures and workflow; managing queues; updating Standard Operating Procedures. This role enforces adherence to the bank's residential loan procedures and investor's loan and documentation policies and guidelines. The position exercises independent judgment and discretion within the scope of authority, ensuring decisions align with the bank's operational standards. The role provides leadership to operational staff regarding closing operations.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Deep knowledge of residential mortgage loan closing, funding processes, and documentation requirements.
Strong understanding of federal and state mortgage lending regulations (e.g., RESPA, TILA, HMDA).
Familiarity with investor guidelines and secondary market requirements.
Knowledge of loan underwriting and post-closing quality control procedures.
Proficient in mortgage operations software and workflow management systems, including Encompass loan origination software.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion within the scope of authority.
Ability to develop and influence policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency and compliance.
Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.
Capacity to analyze operational data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
