Overview

Responsible for ensuring the assigned Bank team(s) consistently meet and / or exceed their overall performance goals and growth objectives. Acts in a leadership capacity with Bank staff to develop, organize and execute effective business development strategies that will result in the acquisition of new business from existing or new client relationships. Meets and exceeds established sales and revenue goals with team's involvement. Knows the market, the competition and has an informed, strategic view for the business. Provides leadership to a team of sales and service professionals and ensures that established sales, revenue and service goals are met or exceeded. The scope of responsibility is based on a number of factors including banking center size, staff size, location and experience. Sets high expectations, creates workforce stability by attracting, developing and retaining great talent and supports the team in achieving goals through coaching and modeling the behaviors and cultural profile of the Bank. Manages the banking center in an efficient and effective manner, consistently improving banking center results. Expands existing relationships and solicits new business through client referrals and outside of the banking center cold calling efforts to meet or exceed the Bank's strategic goals. Directly works with clients to determine and meet their financial needs. Actively involved in the banking center location community and assists in fulfilling the Bank's CRA requirements. With a sense of urgency, provides internal and external clients.

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Consistently meets and exceeds individual and/or team sales goals, including but not limited to deposit, loans and other, as applicable.

  • Works closely with RMs to structure credit requests, complete cash flow and prepare for pre-screen presentation.

  • Maintains strong working knowledge of employee’s roles and responsibilities in order to serve as an effective role model and coach. Recruits, hires, develops and retains the best employees for each position while utilizing corporate resources to maintain staffing levels.

  • Develops and implements strategic sales action plans that capitalize on opportunities, competitors’ weaknesses, and support overall corporate goals. Accountable for achievement of sales and revenue as well as operational efficiency.

  • Motivates, and leads their direct support to ensure sales goals are met while simultaneously ensuring the delivery of exceptional client service. Spends majority of time in the field teaching relevant skills, demonstrating and coaching on-going behaviors for direct reports to achieve their individual and team sales and service goals.

  • Maximizes fee income opportunities

  • Serves as a role model by exhibiting professionalism promoting service awareness being operationally sound and possessing strong leadership and teamwork skills.

  • Expands Banking relationships with prospects and existing clients through outside the Bank cold calling efforts.

  • Ensures sales and service personnel complete appropriate training curriculum. Accountable for the achievement of overall team and market goals as well as operational efficiency.

  • Ensures bank staff is adequately trained in selling and cross selling Bank’s products and services.

  • Works closely with branch personnel to ensure an efficient bank operation and compliance with bank policy and procedures, Regulatory compliance, security and fraud control.

  • Reviews financial results and ratios against budget.

  • Maintains visibility in the community in order to promote a positive image of the company and to also uncover additional business opportunities Participates in meeting CRA requirements.

  • Manages the banking center in an efficient and effective manner, enforcing policies and procedures and ensuring staff development and retention.

  • Meets the requirements of the S.A.F.E. Act and expected to follow procedures including notifying Human Resources of any changes in current status.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of Banking experience preferably in sales and sales strategies.
  • Must possess strong business development skills.

  • Must possess a proven and strong track record of successful leadership and top performance achievement with a strong level of independent thinking, decision making and tempered approach to interpersonal relations both internally and externally.

  • This role requires strong organizational, analytical, coaching, time management and communication skills.

  • Must be highly goal and performance driven and be able to positively impact and develop other people to be equally driven to leverage the entire team.

  • Must be able to fully understand and represent the bank management philosophy in a capacity consistent with teamwork and cooperation.

  • Must be sufficiently flexible to travel as needed in visiting bank locations, potential as well as existing bank clients and attending desired outside activities.

  • Must possess a sense of prudence and risk management and apply it to avoid exposing the bank to undue liability.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or related field.
