The Consumer Direct Mortgage Banker is responsible for mortgage loan production through channels directed by the Residential Sales Director. The primary source of business will be directed from company-sourced initiatives. The role focuses on working directly with consumers to help them secure mortgage loans, ensuring all applications are in compliance with applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and bank policies. The Consumer Direct Mortgage Banker is also responsible for maximizing production through referrals from centers of influence, affinity partners, and past clients, while maintaining an exceptional customer experience throughout the loan process.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Consistently meets and exceeds individual and/or team sales goals, including but not limited to deposit, loans, and other, as applicable.
- Increase conforming loan applications by utilizing company-sourced initiatives, marketing efforts, and referrals from centers of influence, previous customers, and client referrals.
- Assess the financial needs of potential and existing customers to provide loan options and identify opportunities for cross-selling to other lines of business within the bank.
- Recommend loan solutions that align with client financial needs, underwriting guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Collect and analyze customer financial information for multifaceted and/or complex borrowers to prepare customized loan solutions.
- Develop and prepare loan solutions, ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements, and refer products and services when necessary. Ensure all documentation is properly reviewed and accurate.
- Efficiently manage the customer pipeline to ensure timely loan approvals and closings, minimizing delays in the process.
- Maintain a strong focus on delivering an exceptional customer experience throughout the loan process, from application to closing.
- Assist new Mortgage Loan Officers (MLOs) and Mortgage Bankers (MBs) during the onboarding process, offering guidance on sales tactics, compliance, and company standards.
- Meets the requirements of the S.A.F.E. Act and is expected to follow procedures, including notifying Human Resources of any changes in current status.
