Overview

The Training & Development Officer, develops, implements, and facilitates training materials, programs and activities for the entire Bank, including operational, regulatory training, computer application, new products or systems, policies and procedures. Exercises initiative, discretion, strong interpersonal skills and independent judgment with respect to the training function. Works independently with minimal supervision.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Meets with department managers to assess needs, design/develop training, conduct/facilitate classes, provide on-site support during in-house and outsourced training, evaluate results, recommend/modify courses and re-train students as needed.
  • Develops and implements specialty training projects related but not limits to branch, bank operations. Computer applications/systems and, new products including conducting advance needs assessment analysis, planning, coordination with branches and departments, development of materials, manuals, presentations, facilitation of classes and quick resolution of problems for timely completion.
  • Manages all training through use of the Learning Management System (LMS) creating courses and ensuring it is used to its fullest capabilities (learning plans, groups, attendance, tracking and documentation) and that all training records are promptly integrated and maintained current in the LMS.
  • Collaborates with the LMS administrator in order to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all training programs, classroom and online events, e-learning programs, training content and attendance.
  • Ensures department’s responsiveness to manager’s and employee requests creating and enforcing a professional responsive image. Ensures prompt responses to e-mail requests or questions Communicates clearly with internal clients regarding turnaround times
  • Prepares and facilitates training programs under the CNB Academy framework, including participation in new hire training initiatives as needed.
  • Develops, delivers and updates training courses and manuals to support the Bank’s new products, new systems or procedures.
  • Ensures development or coordination of regulatory and compliance training programs.
  • Processes approved requests for third party training seminars/webinars and educational courses ensuring timely payments and reimbursements.
  • Performs duties associated with the preparation of classes including scheduling classes, trainers and students, reserving/confirming training locations, preparing and compiling course materials, training aides, manuals and pre-session assignments and follow-up. Ensures set ups are made properly in order to provide a professional department image and in order to properly meet the client service needs of our internal clients.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of training and development programs, utilizing appropriate data collection instruments and procedures.
  • Maintains current knowledge of policies, procedures, products and services, banking regulations and compliance issues in order to consistently provide updated training and constructive evaluation of the training materials.
  • Conducts annual training and development needs assessment.
  • Promotes a positive attitude among the bank staff as it relates to training, bank culture, bank values and initiatives.
  • Develops and administers training programs in accordance with organizational goals, business needs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Will handle technical assignments requiring in depth institutional knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years Experience with complex training and development tasks including development and/or review of course design.
  • Institutional knowledge of CNB products and systems to facilitate and develop technical training as needed.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills when presenting to large audiences.
  • Basic knowledge of core banking products and services.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and be attentive to detail.
  • Must be an effective communicator, both verbal and written.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to facilitate engaging learning experiences that have measurable knowledge transfer to the work environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team in order to complete tasks.
  • Ability to effectively deliver technical training content, as well as an ability to facilitate discussion through interaction and engagement.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field Required
