The Operational Risk Program Lead is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing risk-related programs and frameworks, including those for new products and services, Operational Risk Events (OREs), Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), and other key initiatives. These programs are critical in ensuring the bank's effective risk identification, mitigation, and compliance. This role requires a deep understanding of operational risk management, regulatory requirements, and the latest risk assessment technologies to protect the bank's financial stability while supporting business growth.
The Operational Risk Program Lead makes significant decisions requiring discretion and independent judgment in managing risk programs, focusing on strategic decision-making, and supporting the bank's operational objectives, rather than overseeing employees or managing daily business operations.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
8-10 years of experience in operational risk management, financial risk consulting, or a related field within a large bank or financial institution.
Experience working with risk technology platforms and analytics tools (e.g., Archer, ServiceNow, Power BI).
Strong knowledge of banking regulations, risk assessment methodologies, and financial risk products.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess complex risk exposures and develop effective mitigation strategies.
Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and risk compliance requirements, with the ability to ensure alignment with evolving standards.
Proven leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
Project management experience in implementing risk frameworks and technologies, ensuring seamless integration and execution.
